Preston appoint Graham Alexander from League One leaders Bradford City

Graham Alexander has left Bradford City to become Preston North End's head coach, with Chris Lucketti joining him as assistant after a difficult start at Deepdale.
Preston North End have appointed Graham Alexander as head coach following Paul Heckingbottom's departure earlier in September.
The EFL confirmed the appointment on 28 September. Alexander arrives from Bradford City, who were leading League One, and will be joined at Deepdale by assistant Chris Lucketti. Both have previously played for Preston.
The appointment links two very different starts to the season. Preston had taken four points from eight Championship matches when Heckingbottom left on 13 September. Alexander leaves a Bradford side that had won five of its opening seven League One fixtures.
His first Preston match is scheduled to be the home meeting with Millwall on 10 October. For Bradford, the departure creates a managerial vacancy while the club is competing at the top of the division.
