Danny Kedwell has stepped down as AFC Croydon Athletic's first-team manager with immediate effect.

In a statement carried by the Isthmian League, Athletic thanked Kedwell for his work and said changing personal circumstances made this the right time for him to move on.

Kedwell led Athletic to last season's play-off final in the Isthmian South East Division. His previous roles included managing Ashford United and working as a player and assistant manager at Chatham.

His playing career included spells with Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon and Ebbsfleet United. Athletic's statement credited him with the players he had backed and the standards he had set at the Mayfield Stadium.
