Ebbsfleet United remain suspended from National League South competition after an HMRC winding-up payment missed the required deadline, with a further review scheduled for 1st September 2026.
Ebbsfleet United's suspension from National League South competition has been extended following confirmation that a payment made to satisfy an HMRC winding-up petition arrived after the required deadline.
The club issued a statement on 26th August 2026 confirming that the full amount demanded under the winding-up petition had been paid to HMRC, with proof of the transaction forwarded to the National League. However, the transfer of funds was not received in time to meet the deadline of 25th August 2026, nor before a League committee meeting held at 10am on 26th August 2026.
Ebbsfleet attributed the delay to complications connected with a concurrent change of ownership, stating that the funds were initiated upon completion of that process but arrived too late to satisfy the timeline set by the division's governing body.
The National League has extended the club's suspension from competition pending a further review, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 1st September 2026 at 7pm. The governing body has also requested additional information from the club, which Ebbsfleet have indicated they will supply ahead of that deadline.
The club did meet one element of the process on time, having completed and submitted replies to the League Committee's outstanding questions before the 5pm deadline on 25th August 2026.
