Dario Franco’s Uni de Chile (La U) have a difficult away game tonight, as they travel to Argentina to face Newell’s old boys in the Copa Libertadores group stage.

This will be the third game in the group stage for both teams, and all four teams in the group are tied on 3 points. However, La U sit at the foot of the table, something Franco will look to change will a positive result against his former side tonight.

Franco as a player, started his career at Newell’s, and he will be looking to use his knowledge of the club to his advantage as La U look to take their first points on their travels in the competition.

La U come into this game having lost their last Copa Libertadores fixture away 3-0 to Olimpia, although they won their home fixture 2-0 against Deportivo Lara. Newell’s, won their home game 3-1 against Olimpia and lost their away game to Deportivo Lara 2 -1.

Franco has nearly a full squad to choose from, and we will be pleased to have Gustavo Lorenzetti available after a recent injury.

La U need to get some points from their travels if they hope to progress to the latter stages of the competition, and getting something from this game is vital.
